Chairman Mark Platta, Supervisors Greg Smith and Dave Schultz and Clerk Virginia Rogers.
Mark called the
meeting to order and the pledge to the flag was recited.

Dave gave an update
on various road items. After reviewing the proposal from Anderson Brothers for repair on Cook Road, Mark made a motion to
accept. The motion was seconded by Dave and passed with Greg opposed. A quote for a tractor and mower was considered and cost
comparisons were reviewed. Dave was asked to get more information before a decision is made. We will be receiving a quote
for street signs from the county. Dave reviewed the signs that will need to be replaced if retained, but which may no longer
be necessary. The county is eliminating many signs that have not proven to be effective. A decision will be made at the next
meeting on which ones to eliminate. Posts for signs were also considered. Greg made a motion to approve buying 300 posts.
The motion was seconded by Mark and passed unanimously. Mark made a motion to adopt Resolution 2011-02 for participation in
a county wide street sign order, which is attached to these minutes. The motion was seconded by Dave and passed unanimously.
The next item discussed
was the recycling program. Dave found that we can take our cardboard to Cub Foods at no charge. We still start saving out
the cardboard when there is not room for it in the roll off. It will be stored
in the shed until it either fits in future roll offs or is hauled to Cub Foods.
The cemetery was
also discussed. Randy stated that he is resigning from the actuary trainee position,
due to inaccuracies found in the records and his concern about liability when marking gravesites. There are discrepancies
in the records kept by the former cemetery board and there is a need to go through the cemetery and verify the records, which
also need to be compiled into a more workable system. The township was recently asked to do the digging for a cremation burial,
a service that was provided for a fee. It was determined that a $50 fee will be charged for future requests for cremation
digging. Mark will meet with Ginny to check the cemetery records against the information on the gravestones. Ginny was asked
to check into cemetery records programs again and if the total cost will be less than $1000 for the program and data entry
hours we will likely move ahead with it.
The minutes of the
May 10th meeting were reviewed. Greg made a motion to approve the minutes with one minor change. The motion was
seconded by Dave and carried by unanimous vote.
Payroll was approved
and correspondence was reviewed.
The meeting was recessed at 8:54 p.m. to be reconvened on May 31st at 6:00 p.m. at the town hall.
